Mark your calendar! 2-5 September 2025 - Engelberg, Switzerland
Workshop 1: Moonshot research
An interactive workshop intended for Principal Investigators and soon-to-be ones. We will try to understand what it takes to promote research across fields, and whether formidable goals can inspire exceptional research. Space is limited to 25 people, and preference will be given to Principal Investigators. Postdocs and PhD students that aim at an academic career are welcome. Registration required through the form sent to all conference participants.
Workshop 2: Unexpected technologies and (not so) Responsible automation
Benjamin Sawicki will present how NCCR Automation's projects connect with industry, Dr. Elise Cahard will outline NCCR Automation's mission, current projects, and ways to get involved. After the talks, you will join a team to practice in designing a start-up pitch for an "Eternal NCCR 2050" challenge and craft an article about "Ir-responsible automation". Quick pitches, expert guidance, friendly judging, and a crowd vote. Expect practical takeaways, useful practice, and informal atmosphere to meet new people across labs!
The application period for travel grants has now closed.
NCCR Automation offers travel grants for eligible researchers to attend and present their research at CLOCK 2025.
We invite applications from master’s students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members from Universities in geographical regions that are under-represented in the Control and Automation community. This is a fantastic chance to engage with experts in the field, present your work in the poster session, and gain insights into the latest research developments.
To apply for the travel grant, please submit the following:
your up to date CV (including publications where applicable);
a short motivation letter detailing your interest in attending the summit and how it aligns with your academic goals (maximum 1 page);
a support letter from your supervisor at your home institution (only for students and postdocs);
a preliminary poster showcasing your research work up to now. If selected, you can then update the poster for the final presentation.
The grants will cover travel, meals, and lodging expenses. Candidates will be evaluated based on the high quality of their research and motivation. Geographical diversity will also be considered.
Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your academic journey and connect with others in your field. Please submit your application by 15th May 2025 at 17:00 CEST and take the next step towards an enriching experience at the CLOCK Summit. We look forward to your application!
If you are interested in presenting a poster, please indicate so in the registration form, indicating a tentative title, a list of authors, and an abstract (only for review; will not be published). Please note that spaces are limited and you will be notified whether your poster submission is accepted.
The interactive poster sessions will not be parallel with the invited plenaries. The presenters of each poster will have to attend the poster session, which will hopefully stimulate discussions and promote the exchange of ideas.
There are no published proceedings of the summit.
All posters will be entered into the competition to win the Best Poster Award.
Note that the deadline for poster submissions has now passed, and all authors have been notified of acceptance/rejection.
